A night at Sunset Way - Yum Yum Thai

Went to Yum Yum Thai at Sunset Way (Clementi Street 12). Just right beside Fortune Cuisine. I think since they have such a competitive restaurant next door, they are having ala-carte buffet for SGD15.80++. My first tryout with Kir, my makan kakis ... hehehhehe

The environment setting of the restaurant is not too bad too. Good ambience and not too noisy. I like the place! Big table too. Meaning you can just put a lot of food on the table. Wahahahahaha!!!

Drinks are not included in the so we have to order it separately. So Kir suggested Ice Thai Tea. But I dont sense any difference from normal ice tea. However, he kept insisting there is a different in taste. Well, probably, my tongue are just too thick to taste the difference. Hahahaha ......

We ordered quite a number of food for two people. The way they cook are based on how many people that is present. I wont elaborate a lot as there was really a lot of food pics ... Just one or two sentences.

Dish #1: Pomelo Salad
Pomelo makes you feel really refreshing. Sweet, sour and spicy! It's just a great great great appetiser that will really makes you drool.

Dish#2: Fish Cake and Cuttlefish Balls (Sotong Balls)

Fish cake have a heavy taste of basil leaves. A good combi with the thai chilli sauce. Sotong balls are just normal. Nothing much to talk about it.



Dish#3: Onion Omelette
A nice and soft omelette with lots of onion. Hehehhehe ....


Dish#4: Olive fried rice
Love this. Taste way much better than Lerk Thai.

Dish#5: Kang Kong Sambal Belacan

A normal one that you can get at any zichar (stir fried) stall.

Dish#6: Scallop Stir Fried with Basil Leaves
Best dish out of all dishes. The scallop were not overcooked and it's really soft and succulent. Totally nice!!! We ordered two for this dish. Cant order more as we cant stuff anymore into our small stomach ...... quite sad ....

Dish#7: Black Pepper Fish

The fish were deep fried before they are stir fried with black pepper sauce. The fish are really hard. Too hard that you can even taste the fish ....

Dish#8: Fried Pork Collar

First bite taste good. But second bite it was really hard. Too dry and makes you wont want to have a second one after the first. I dont really like it. But I think people who drinks beer may like this as their accompanying dish.

Dish#9: Stir fried tofu

Worst dish of all. Didnt taste anything and even I can cook better than this.

Dish#10: Stir fried tofu
Not good at all. Only have sour taste. No lemongrass or basil leaves smell. But I will give credits to the ingredients as they are really fresh. But I dont dare to take much as I am allergic to seafood ..... sad case for a person who really love food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dish#11: Sweet and Sour Prawn

Taste normal but prawns are really succulent and fresh! I just too one and I suffer the whole night ... Sigh .....

Dish#12: Thai Chendol

Too sweet and the coconut milk is too thick!!! I still prefer the chendol in Melaka though. The dessert was not included in the buffet to. Do take not on this ^_^
