Big Disappointments but Bigger Surprise!!

SATAY BY THE BAY WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!! The moment me and Shalom got there were only 5 or 6 stalls of food stalls. Satay cost like 60-80cents per stick! Gosh! Other local food that sold there were rather expensive. Therefore, we only have one croissant from one stall and decided to proceed to another destination for food. We then walk through The Fullerton Hotel! That was my first time stepping into that hotel. My jaw dropped!!!!!!!!! It was so beautiful and the toilet are so spacious and pretty. Hmm .. wondering should I make a photoshoot at the toilet at Fullerton Hotel ... hmmm ... doesnt seem like a bad idea as the hotel is really beautiful!!!
So after a little walk by Boat Quay, we wanted to go to the Japanese restaurant that we had two years ago. It was located at the row of shops in front of TCC (The Coffee Connoiseur). But to our disappointment (another disappointment, herrr ....) it wasnt there anymore. So there were a few eateries there and this western restaurant caught our eyes! Because it is CHEAP!! It's known as Glutonny. Just fit the gluttons like me. Hehehehhehehehe ......

They have a normal menu and they have pocket menu too ... Though the variety wasnt much but it was more than enough for two!

I love the design of the environment. Very cosy and homely feeling. Not crowded too. However, I think it will be quite crowded on Sundays as it states that Sundays are only for customers who had made their reservations ~_~". So folks remember not to go on Sundays if you have not made your reservation ^_^

At the walls surrounding this small western food shop, they are filled with cartoons. This is the pic that I like most and it turned out to be the best out of 4 hehehhehe ... I love the guy pouring the fries into his mouth .. hehehehhehe...

Here comes the soup .. since we ordered a set meal. It costs us about 12SGD at most. A very nice mushrooms soup! Thick with mushrooms, milk and cheese and of course cornstarch. What I like about this soup is you really can taste and smell the shiitake mushrooms! It doesnt taste even abit like campbells or pizza hut mushrooms soup that you can only feel the cornstarch! I love this!! Will go back for more!!

Next served was the tomyum chicken pasta! Taste sour and spicy. Not too sour and too spicy till it covered the taste of the pasta. The original taste of the pasta is still there. You wont feel tired or bored eating this!

This is the main dish that I like most of out of the two. The rice is black pepper rice. Imagine it! The rice is sooo fragrance that it tastes really good even on it's own. Without adding anything to it! The fish slices may look like normal fish. Dont be deceived by it!!! Inside the fish, there was a thick layer of cheese and ham ... Ohhhhhhh Uhhhhh so cheesey~~~ THe trio really goes well and you will definitely yearn for more.

What's more important, the portion is not too much therefore, wastage of food is not necessary. However, I would prefer if they increase the fish portion cos I really love it very much! You can check at the following link to see how to get there! This is a worth eating restaurant! Two thumbs up from me *GRINS*

Hip Diner USA

Went to Illuma last weekend. It's my first visit there. Well, I would say it was rather quite empty. But I like it cos there weren't many people in the mall. You are able to see things and walk nicely without bumping onto each other. The things and food are more onto the high-end. One nice and good thing is they have a very big arcade over there and they have my FAVOURITE Taiko Drum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have 4 pairs of drum and lots of UFO machine. But the dolls are quite hard to get though .... Hahahahhaha ....

Since the food are quite expensive, we changed our lunch destination to basement level at Bugis Junction. We spotted this 1 for 1 offer hehehehehhehe .... it's only valid on public holidays and special day only. Lucky for us that day .. hehehehhehehehe ....

This restaurant is known as Hip Diner USA.

After ordering our food, we played with the Rubis Cube that we got from LG. Basically, I dont really have the patience to play with the cube. Hahahhahaha ... They have technique to it ... but I am too lazy to do that ...

But Shalom loves it and he solved it for several rounds! TWO THUMBS UP FOR HIM!!

Finally, food was here! I ordered Chicken Mushroom Burger. THis burger was nice even without chicken. Just mushrooms, cheese and the lettuce!! Really fresh and tasty!!! But I dont quite like the fries dipping sauce. Too sour for me to handle ...

Shalom ordered American Meatloaf! This is the BEST beef dish I ever had. The beef taste as though it will melt the moment you put it into your mouth! Very nice. It blends really well with the sauce. Even after a week, I can still remember how it tastes like! That's really something isn't it ^_^! Hehehehhehehehe ....

Shalom's safety glasses

Another week has gone by... Met Shalom for dinner and today was the first time I was introduced to his working safety glasses. At the prata shop in Tiong Bahru Plaza, we played with the glasses.

And of course, cant resist to take picture for this very first and speicial moment! Look at the glasses! It really make my eyes look so big hahahaha ... just like a magnifying glass ... hehehehee ... really look nerdy like this though ... but i like it hohohoho ...

OK now it's Shalom's turn to wear. Poor Shalom ... look at his tired eyes. .... they looked so droopy that the lids were about to drop at that instant!!!

After wearing the glass, he looked really nerdy too ... hahahhahhahaha .....

Fun! Fun! Fun! Hmmm.... let's see what's next!

The Takoyakis Evening

This time, I wanted to visit ION Orchard. The new shopping mall in Orchard. I read from AsiaOne-Soshiok section saying that the food sold in the food court of this mall is quite cheap. Well, I decided to fulfill my curiosity in food. This takoyaki is from Tsukiji. For you info, Tsukiji is one of the biggest fish market in Tokyo. Most of the Japanese stall in ION Orchard Food Hall are directly from Japan. They hire Japanese chef to cook the dish.

They really have a looooooong queue and we queued for about 15mins to get our takoyakis. It's 4.80SGD for 6 balls. In Takashimaya, you get 3 for SGD3. And it's much more cheaper in comparison. No wonder people will flock in for the queue. They have set menu for this too which I find it's quite cheap in comparison! Choto Mattte!! This is not it! Let's talk about the taste here.

I remembered my sis said about the takoyakis when she was on course for a month in Japan. The best takoyaki is less flour more fillings and it will be hot inside even tough it seems cool from outside! This is exactly what my sis had described!! It has a big piece of tako (red squid) as a fillings and the skin is not thick. When you bite, even it's cool from the outside, it's still fuming from the inside! This was the best Takoyakis that I have had in Singapore. However, I wont say that it's best in Japan as I think there lies better Takoyakis in Japan!!

And I caught a glimpse of this handsome young man doing the Tako ..... His name is Sato~ (GRINS!!). He is really good looking and all the queue is worthwhile just by looking at him Hahahahahhahahaha ...... His hands are really swift. Others are managing 2 racks (4 rows of takoyakis) and he is managing 4 racks. And he still can outbeat those who are managing 2 racks and helped them with it! What a wonderful Tako Man!!!

This is the Tako and how they are doing it! They have to keep tossing so that it wont burnt at the bottom. Really a tough work to keep up with!! I love Tako! Tako tako tako taaaaaakooooooo!!

At the same time, at ION Orchard, we visited the LG store and did some surveys for them. After the survey, we got free gifts of course! A good one! We got a rubis cubes and speaker from LG!! The quality is totally superb! Next time, I am going to change to LG product! High quality, nice, stylish design! Go LG GO!!

Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee

Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee means curry chicken with noodles and vermicelli. This stall is located at Hong Lim Complex food court. Well, why Hong Lim out of all places. It's like this. Me and Shalom went to China Square to see some figurines and I was hungry. I got know that Hong Lim Complex is nearby and heard that there is a lot of famous food located there. So decided to take a try to walk around that building. Basically, it's HDB that have food court located nearby. Most of the stalls are closed. Probably because it's Sunday? I dont know. After walking around, saw this stall with a long queue even though it's already 3 plus near to 4pm. So I guess this must be good and decided to take a risk and try the food.

The stall name is known as:-

Just look at the awards and news paper cutting that they got. They sell nothing else but chicken curry noodles. The price range from 3.50 to 4.50SGD.

I manage to take a glimpse of the picture on the curry when the person in front of me went to get his cutleries.

Here goes the curry chicken noodles. Hmm... what's so special about this? It looks plain though. The chicken are hainanese type of chicken. But the chicken is really very tender and smooth. Nicely done. So you wont feel to hard to chew to swallow even for a breast meat. Next is the soup base. Unlike other curry noodles that are thick in gravy, the gravy are much less in vicousity I would say. But the taste of the curry remains strong. Plus with the noodles combine with vermicelli makes it so perfect! I love this dish. And the taupok that has been soaking in the boiling curry for a long time makes it sooooooo CURRY!!!

This stall really didnt get its fame without nothing! A totally great chicken curry noodles! I am loving it!
