Thai Food in Golden Mile ... AROY MAAAAAAAK MAAAAAAAAAA

Went to Golden Mile for Thai food a few weeks back with Shalom. He went there to get his bus ticket home. This restaurant is a frequent visit restaurant by us and some of our Thai friends. The food is more towards the Northern Thai type of delicacies. So dont ask for stir-fried food here. They dont provide it. Oh ya forgot to mention where this restaurant is. This restaurant is located at the 1st level/groundfloor (depending on how you interprete it) opposite Huat Thai Seafood Restaurant. Not sure what is the restaurant name though =P. Always forget to note it down. Hehehehe...
Salad is a must-try in any thai restaurant. This will help you to test the authenticity of the food. According to Shalom, this is authentic enough. I love the way they make the mango salad or they called it "Yam Mamuang" in Thai. It comprises of shallots, unripe mango (less sour type), peanuts, bird chillies, dried baby shrimps (you can see the whole shrimps and the shrimps are really really small), fish sauce, lime and sugar ... I think. That's according to my taste. It is a refreshing kind of salad but if you have low tolerance of spicy you need to remind the owner to reduce the number of chillies that they put it inside. Except tom yam, this is my all-time favourite!!

Grilled/roasted pork. Different from our char siew, the roasted pork is quite dry from outside but succulent from inside. You have to eat it with this "moo nam chim" (pork dipping) sauce to make the dish a whole. Else it will be too boring to just eat with the pork only. The trick here is the sauce. And normally whether the food is good or not it is always based on sauce. This taste alright to me as I dont really love the sauce as much as the sauce next dish. The sauce goes well with the pork too....

Out of the three dishes I love this fish the most. At first sight, the fish doesnt look appealing at all. It has its scales on. On top of the scales they covered it with a thick salt. In the stomach of the fish, it is stuffed with lemongrass. After finishing all these procedures, they grilled the fish (I saw in a food documentary once .. hehehhe). The fish is AWWEEESOOOOMEEE!!! Very tender meat as if it melts in your mouth. It tastes really good even without the "pla nam chim". Love the dish here!

Next time if you happen to pass by Golden Mile do not miss this opportunity to try on this restaurant. Their grilled spring chicken taste great too. You guys should try it. Dont order rice like us. Go for their sticky rice for a better taste!

Till then folks and see you guys next time ^_^
